Your Beautiful Liver

Your Beautiful Liver

If you have been a patient of this office for very long, then you know that we always check the liver.

The liver performs over 500 jobs, and produces over 1,000 essential enzymes. Just a few of these functions are saving up energy, making bile to help break down food, protecting us from the effects of pollution, stopping cuts from bleeding too long, killing germs, getting rid of toxic chemicals and helping to build muscle.

Your liver is like your bodyguard. It jumps in front of that bullet that it the greasy French fries that you decided to eat. If takes care of the toxic exposure that you experienced. Your liver is your best friend, and you should take care of it.

The role of the liver is to keep the body's complex internal chemistry in balance. It takes raw nutrients from our digestive system (in the form of carbohydrates, protein, amino acids, etc) and processes them so they can be stored and sent to different parts of our body in the right form and quantity.

The liver regulates the level of sugars in our blood and manufactures bile (which breaks down fats in our small intestine). It also helps remove toxins, drugs and hormones from our bloodstream. This brief explanation does the liver little justice - it actually carries out over 1,500 complex biochemical functions. Perhaps it is because the liver is so important, that up to a certain point, it can even rejuvenate itself.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is one nutrient that has been the focus of liver related research and shows great promise for liver health. Taking Total Liver Detox (a supplement we have at the office) is specifically formulated to make your liver work better. Performing a Liver Cleanse is another way to clean out the liver.

Many of my patient’s have performed a Liver Cleanse with great results. This is a procedure that you perform as home with ingredients that you may already have or can easily get at a grocery store. If you are feeling sluggish, fatigued, have digestive problems, then you should consider a Liver Cleanse.

After years of eating the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) everyone’s liver needs cleansing. Call our office and we can help you determine the best way for you to improve your liver function.
