Different forms of allergens

Allergies is something that many people suffer from, ranging from food allergies to airborne items such as pollen or animal dander. Whatever kind of allergy you suffer from, you know how miserable they can be. Most people think of allergies as problems with their sinuses, but allergies can present themselves in many different ways. Some of these ways could be like sinus drainage, but also allergies can present themselves in regards to things such as skins problems. I have seen them in my office resulting in problems with arthritis, migraine headaches, gallbladder issues, as well as many others.

You cannot really have a good conversation about allergies without first talking about leaky gut syndrome.

Leaky gut syndrome is a condition where have lost your normal intestinal wall bacteria that protects and fills in the “cracks” in your intestinal wall. Babies normally have a leaky gut up to about one year old. This is why it is so important not to feed young babies and infants foods prior to the time they develop a normal gut lining as they could contract all sorts of problems including type 1 diabetes, skin issues, migraine headaches, as well as other problems.

Leaky gut syndrome is a condition where food that is not completely digested leaks into the bloodstream. As a result of this, your body sees these foods as attacking invaders instead of nourishment.

Normal digestion works this way. Take an example: eating chicken. You chew the chicken up and swallow it. It digests in the stomach and it is broken down in the digestive tract into small proteins. These proteins are too large to get absorbed normally by the intestinal tract, so now the chicken protein is digested a little bit more down into amino acids. Amino acids are small enough to become absorbed into the bloodstream and one they are there, they can be used by the body to make new hair or new skins or even new muscle or whatever the body needs. This is normal digestion.

Leaky gut syndrome differs from regular digestion in the process that when you chew food it goes to stomach like normal, but when the proteins are broken down into small proteins, they are small enough to be absorbed through the large cracks in the digestive wall. Once they are in the bloodstream, the body does not recognize them as usable nutrition, but as a foreign invader and therefore attacks the protein. It then recognizes the protein as something to be allergic to. When this occurs over a long period of time, the immune system is put on high alert and because of this, the immune system becomes hypersensitive to other things that would not normally trigger it to have an immune or allergic response.

This is one of the reasons elimination diets do not work as well as some people would like. When you eliminate, as an example, chicken, but continue to have leaky gut syndrome, your body will eventually become allergic to something else and so on. This is why it so important to eliminate the leaky gut syndrome when treating allergies. When someone comes into our office and suffers from allergies, we obviously want to get rid of leaky gut syndrome, but we also treat them with what we call ASERT (Allergy Sensitivity Elimination and Reprogramming Technique).

When we treat patients with ASERT, we expose the patient to a number of different allergens on each visit. These allergens are in the form of vials that contain homeopathic quantity of the substance we are attempting to treat the patient for. When the patient is treated with ASERT we expose the patient to light of a certain wavelength using colored glasses, sounds of a certain vibration using tuning forks, and we stimulate the patient with light from low level laser therapy. We also physically stimulate the associated points of the body. These are acupuncture points that are associated with all the organs, systems, and tissues in the body. In this way, we convince the patient’s body not to be over sensitive to the things that it used to be allergic to. The amount of treatment depends on the severity of the case, but often can be 2 to 3 months. When you compare this to the standard medical approach to treat allergies, it is not very long considering oftentimes allergy treatment regimens can take years. The results that we get are really spectacular results. If you are suffering from allergies or sensitivities, call us to find out of this unique approach is something that might help.
